"No one said you couldn't have your little talk, kitty", spat Kuro. "I told you to sit down." She was starting to feel nervous, but struggled to keep it hidden behind a composed face. After all, she was the youngest of the group, and Mask was getting on her nerves. Little gull my a.ss. Gull has a temper, I told you. And come on, move it. Think on something. They won't fall for the frisky 13 year old much longer, even if her friends look big and scruffy. You move one hand toward any weapons, and I'll crack your head open, kitty.

[Mask makes me want to hate him sometimes Dx]
Mask turned to fix Sigurd with a cold stare, a less than pleasant snicker welling up in his throat.
"Sigurd, if you honestly think I'd risk indigestion eating you, then you're stupider than you look."
Mask wanted the situation to be over, and perferably as soon as humanly possible. The little part of his mind that he'd taken to ignoring was currenly screaming for him to high tail it out of there and find somewhere safe to hide.
"Eagle Eye, for the sake of whatever you pray to, put the gun down. You aren't helping the situation in the slightest."

Eagle shook his head, but reluctantly put the gun away in it's "sheath", actually a leather knapsack. He muttered under his breath, "Spoilsport." Then he said to Mask, "We should just take the loner and go." His anger against Sigurd was now welling up inside of him, and he was already really exhausted. He then backed up back to the other Wharf Rats.
Siggy sighed in relief again, but then realized what Eagle Eye had just said. He groaned and leaned his head back on the street again.

Rico let out a slow almost silent sigh of relief that the kid infront of him had put the pistol away. Rico tapped his leather gloved fingers against his leather clad arms and then lifted his head, the feathers attached in his hair rustling softly, the raven feathers glinting in the sunlight.
He watched the young french boy lay back upon the floor defeated and Rico tilted his head slightly, he was aware the girl had said something but he didn't catch it, he was intrigued on why the Wharf Rats wanted such a weak specimen. Rico shrugged slightly as a Cat call split the air in the distance. Rico turned and lifted his head and then turned back to the group of Rats infront of him.
"...I'll stay standing thanks birdie. Having a gun pointed at me has reduced my eagerness to talk to you....Have the boy....not that he'll be much use anyway " he said and turned away from the group, moving over towards his origional resting place. He hoped up upon the roof of the rusted car again and let the cool breeze cool him down.

Kuro all but hissed, but ended up letting Rico go. After all, she was almost two feet smaller than him, and certainly not a match on a fight. Moving the staff to her left hand, she tilted her head to the left, watching the other Wharf Rats and Sigurd. She was slowly returning to her usual, silent presence, that arrogance and imperiousness vanishing into thin air. Resting her forehead on the staff, she exhaled deeply, before raising her head again, all signs of anger dissipated.

Mask just shook his head, running his hands through his hair in exasperation. Sometimes, days just wound up sucking. Whether they were the sorta-sucking or the totall as.s-sucking variety, however, tended to make a world of difference in how much Mask enjoyed or hated them.
The current day was falling under the sorta-sucking catagory.
Letting his head fall back on his shoulders, Mask's composure slipped for a moment, and a small grimace flickered in place of his smile, but then was gone just as quickly as it'd appeared.
"I really and truely despise Mondays."

Eagle leaned against the slab of junk he assumed was a hov-car nearest the other Wharf Rats. He scrunched his face up in confusion at Mask's seemingly non-sequiter comment. "Uh, what was that that?"
Sigurd, bored and resigned to his fate, leaned back onto the ground in tiredness. He was exhausted by this already. And when were these rat-people going to take him back to their prison? He was tired of the whole thing. He looked around, forming an idea inside his head. The rat-people wern't paying much attention to him, so he could grab his knives. Maybe. He began edging slowly toward the knives.

[Kuro has the knives, check the previous page.]
The Japanese girl shot Mask a furious glare; it visibly said that at least he hadn't spend the previous Monday locked up in a container. It was gone as soon as it had appeared, though. The loner was - wait. Where was he trying to go? She had his knives. Hallucinations, already?
The stick clicked at every other step as she approached the boy on the ground, prodding his ribs with the butt of the staff. None too aggressively, though - just to make sure he noticed her.
"...Sigurd, right? Don't even think about it." All his knives but one were tucked beneath her white linen belt. The last one rested on her right hand, to where Kuro had shifted it when moving the staff to the left. "I don't want bloodshed, but Eagle Eye there looks starving for it. Now, get up." She backed away a few steps, to have time and space to react if Sigurd ever thought of doing something stupid. Her blue eyes seemed ready to drill a hole on him.

Mask, by then quite eager to see how everything played out, fell in behind Kuro, grinning sadistically while he held his weapon in an easy, practiced grip at his side. Playing the part of the muscle, letting Seagull control the show for now. He was intensely curious in just how long her assertive behavior would last before she fell silent again.
Fixing the loner with a cold and possibly slightly manic stare, he swallowed a chuckle. Annoying or no, this all was much more fun than just a walk through the streets. Conflict - especially the kind in his favor - always beat out stumbling through wreakage any day.

Eagle rolled his eyes, extremely bored by now. But, he didn't intervene. He thought that the newbie should have her show. However, if this went on much longer, he'd grab Sigurd by his hair and drag him to the wharf himself. Eagle pulled out his knife and started balancing it on his finger, as always when he was bored.
Sigurd shrunk away even more, if that was possible, at Mask's cold and manic glare. He gulped again, and pulled himself up. He also stepped back, just one step. He also looked nervously at Eagle. His resignedness was over. He was terrified, obviously.

Kuro sniffed almost inaudibly, looking at Sigurd and his terrified expression. I get the feeling this is not right... Mask and Eagle Eye were perfectly able to handle the matter. As long as Sigurd kept clear from his knives - in her possession - there was not going to be a fight. Hopefully.
With a graceful stance, she stepped to the side, clearing a path between Mask and the loner. Her blue eyes were down, both hands firmly gripping the staff.
Let's get over with this, please.
All signs of the arrogant little girl were gone now; Kuro was back to her calm, quiet self. Listening, and learning. In New Pork, you learned or you died.

Seagull moved aside, and part of Mask wanted to stalk forward and drive his knife deep into the side of poor Sigurds neck. Such a wound would be lethal; the boy would fall over clutching at the knife in a futile attempt at living, his face suddenly rife with horror and perhaps surprise.
He brutally shoved back the vicious part of his subconcious, giving his head the tiniest of shakes before walking towards the loner, his movements purposeful. His hand shot out and with surprising speed and strength he had the boys arm twisted up his back.
There was still a smile on his lips, but his eyes were colder polar ice as he tightened his grip.
"We're going back now, and this young fellow shall be accompanying us. Eagle, Seagull, should he make an attempt at escape I'm relying on you to assist me in breaking his legs."

Eagle Eye nodded a bit, grinning widely, and hoping that Siggy would move. He would enjoy breaking his leg. He pulled out his gun again, preparing to be a guard. This was turning out to be a good day.
Sigurd widened his eyes and took a step back when Mask came towards him. When Mask twisted up his arm, he winced and grimaced as there was an audible crack. He started crying, quietly, as Mask said to break his legs, if he tried to escape.

Kuro did not answer, leaning on the staff instead. The seagull feathers on its top trembled a bit and went quiet as the girl drummed the wood with her fingers. Her left hand was hurting now, from holding both the staff and Sigurd's knife, so she tucked the latter behind her belt, joining it to the others. She would not use it, if she could avoid it. Somehow, a bludgeoning weapon did not sound quite as brutal as a piercing one. And, after all, the staff had a longer reach. She watched with a blank expression as Mask twisted the loner's arm and Sigurd started to cry, falling behind the two Hunters to return to the Wharf.

[I’m not high, but apparently my muse is.]
Mask couldn’t help but handle Sigurd roughly, pushing him along in front of him as he found himself leading the way back to the Wharf Rat hideout. The sadistic side of him liked having power over the smaller boy, and the crying only made his grin widen.
“We’ll have to see what’s up when we get home, Siggy-boy. Maybe you’ll get a cell all to yourself. Well, there are the rats, but I’m sure you’ll be good friends with them.” he hummed in a cheerful tone, even as he gave the boys arm an extra jerk.
It had to be said though, that Mask was trying to keep things low key. It was hard when there was a certain part of your mind that was fantasizing over various ways to inflict the most humiliation and pain. Mask hides the beast, beast moves the mask. Live and let live. Etcetera, etcetera.

Siggy shut his eyes tight at Mask's words. He also managed to stop crying, which took a lot of effort. Sigurd soon discovered that Eagle Eye was watching him, as he opened one eye a crack to see Eagle right next to Mask, holding his handgun. Eagle saw Sigurd look at him and grinned maliciously at him. Sigurd made a small whimper and shut his eyes again. Eagle said,
"I bet you'll love the cells. They're nice and wet and cold and ratty, just like you like it. And if your lucky, then you'll probably only have the rats. We Wharf rats will just forget about you and leave you down there to rot." He was enjoying this.

The girl trailed quietly behind them, keeping close to Sigurd, piercing blue eyes locked on the back of his head. She needed a quick pace to keep up with the older boys, yet she was once more determined not to let it show. Especially in front of two Hunters and a prisoner, especially after her performance. The silence was comforting, even if it was broken by Mask and Eagle Eye's threats. The loner was terrified, that was certain. Perhaps fear would help him, would block his perception toward other aspects of his imprisonment. Yet it was not pleasant to hear those very threats, a too close to home reminder of what she might have suffered if the Wharf Rats had not accepted her into the tribe. So she was walking about with two Hunters and their catch - she needed to be able to gather herself up and keep going. Learn.

"Perhaps our lovely Mistress will take pity on your mortal soul and won't leave you to rot in the damp. You never know, she might take a liking to you, although I think you're far too cowardly for your own good." Mask remarked amiably, his iron grip still unshakable.
"Eagle Eye, be a dear and go ahead to prepare a cell for our guest? If you can, try to find one that isn't completely coated in rat sh.it." he added, glancing to the other Hunter. "I'd like everything to be ready for little Sigurd."
