[Name >> Mina "Crow" Yrjö
[Age >> 17
[Gender >> Female
[Tribe >> Vampires
[Rank >> Alpha
[Nationality >> Finnish
[Politics >> Religion won't save us; we are alone.
[Romantic orientation >> Straight
[Appearance >> Mina is tall and slim, about 5'10" and 143 pounds. Her skin is quite pale, tending to get sunburn, and her straight black hair falls down to her middle back. Although she would take pains to keep it glossy and well-kept, that is not always possible in New Pork - she has thought about cutting it short more than once. She has slanted gray eyes, bearing a disdainful expression more often than not. If one would look deep into her, they would see that her poise, step and stance are set to impress, even if she is only a 17-year-old. In recent times, Mina's personality has changed quite a lot, and that reflects on her appearance. As leader of the Vampires, she could be nothing but a pretense goth, always wearing black clothes along with a red scarf and a silver necklace with a strange pendant, a mix of a cross and a pentagram.
[Attitude >> Mina has gone through quite a change due to the attacks on New York; once, she was a peaceful, relaxed teenager just like any other. The Plague took away her brother, closer to Mina than anyone else - and with it, a good part of her humanity. Her selfishness and outright anger quickly submersed any other feeling, and now she fights to wear a mask of cold composure and disdain that never fit her. Her actions won't bring her brother back; but if Mina ever realized that, it would probably be too late already to undo her reputation of cruelty and lack of compassion.
[Notable History >> Mina's older brother, Juha, was on a school interchange in New York City when the plague struck. Her mother - Mina's father left two weeks after she was born - fell in a deep slumber, and never made efforts to find Juha. After a month of trying to cope with it, Mina finally gave up - and traveled to New York. She had no references, no maps, no guide, but she was determined to find her brother. One day, she was scavenging through a pile of burnt human bodies when she found what remained of Juha. His features were unrecognizable, yet somehow his silver necklace had survived prior scavengers. Mina had no more tears to shed, but she kept the necklace, a simple pentagram mingling with a Christian cross. It was a symbol of Juha's hope for international religious peace, yet in Mina's hands it turned out to be a memorial of how God had forsaken his people. That day, she forgot religion, forgot hope, forgot mercy. Now she only seeks vengeance - from what, even she cannot tell exactly. Those who faced her had a pitiful end and a painful death, and not even those who joined her ranks were immune to her cold fury. Be aware of the shadows - gray eyes expect you.
'Nothing ever goes as you expect. Expect nothing, and you will not be surprised. Expect nothing. Hope for nothing. Nothing.'
'If it hurts too much, make it hurt someone else instead.'
'Death rides on my shoulder, death walks in my footsteps; I am death...'
'To destroy, or be destroyed. When that's your choice, is there a difference?' ~ Lews Therin Telamon
'Turn their seas to red with the blood of their slain.
Crush their hopes, their dreams
And turn their songs into cries of lamentation.' ~ Black Templars
'I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,
But is there because he's a victim of the times.' ~ Johnny Cash
'Why, Mr. Anderson? Why do you do it? Why get up? Why keep fighting? Do you believe you're fighting for something? For more than just your survival? Can you tell me what it is? Do you even know? Is it freedom? Or truth? Perhaps peace? Could it be for love? Illusions, Mr. Anderson. Vagaries of perception. The temporary constructs of a feeble human intellect trying desperately to justify an existence that is without meaning or purpose. And all of them as artificial as the Matrix itself, although only a human mind could invent something as insipid as love. You must be able to see it, Mr. Anderson. You must know it by now. You can't win. It's pointless to keep fighting. Why, Mr. Anderson? Why?! Why do you persist!?' ~ Agent Smith
'Every poem an epitaph. And any action
Is a step to the block, to the fire, down the sea's throat
Or to an illegible stone: and that is where we start.
We die with the dying:
See, they depart, and we go with them.
We are born with the dead:
See, they return, and bring us with them.' ~ T. S. Eliot
'For whom the gun tolls
For whom the prey weeps
Bow before a war
Call it religion
Some wounds never heal
Some tears never will
Dry for the unkind
Cry for mankind
Even the dead cry
- Their only comfort
Kill your friend, I don't care
Orchid kids, blinded stare
Need to understand
No need to forgive
No truth no sense left to be followed
"Facing this unbearable fear like meeting an old friend"
"Time to die, poor mates, You made me what I am!"
"In this world of a million religions everyone prays the same way"
"Your praying is in vain It'll all be over soon"
"Father help me, save me a place by your side!"
"There is no god Our creed is but for ourselves"
"Not a hero unless you die Our species eat the wounded ones"
"Drunk with the blood of your victims
I do feel your pity-wanting pain,
Lust for fame, a deadly game"
"Run away with your impeccable kin!"
"- Good wombs hath borne bad sons..."
- Cursing, God, why?
Falling for every lie
Survivors' guilt
In us forevermore' ~ Nightwish
[Reputation >> Within and without her tribe, Mina is viewed as a merciless leader, who does not takes mistakes lightly. Betraying the Crow will call down her wrath, and she shows no pity in the way she treats those under her command. Loved by few, hated by many, respected by hers, she rules the Vamp with an iron fist.
The Crow protects her own.
