[Name >> Anne "Dancer" White
[Age >> 14
[Gender >> Female
[Tribe >> Vampires
[Rank >>Hunter - Lookout Omega [IC events]
[Nationality >> American
[Politics >> Anarchy
[Romantic orientation >> Straight
[Appearance >> Anne is small and nimble, with quick reflexes and a practised stance. She has a chaotic curly dark-brown hair, about shoulder length - if she brushed it, though, it might be a bit longer. Her face is quite plain, her skin tanned, and her eyes are a common brown, usually carrying a sarcastic glint. She wears close fitted clothes that still allow her to move freely, usually black pants and a dark red sweater, and two large yellow plastic bracelets carved with wing-like motifs. She sways slightly as she walks, almost in a dance, and has an annoying tendency to absentedly walk on rails and ledges even if she has company.
[Attitude >> Anne is quite calm and secluded - yet press her too much, and she will lash out; not so much physically, but adding a rather large amount of sarcasm to her voice and actions.
She prefers to be close to the sky, even if she doesn't feel uncomfortable on the ground. The rooftops are her domain, and Annr might well be found stepping lightly across a wire stretched between two buildings, or standing on a terrace, balancing on the balls of her feet as she looks at the street trough her binoculars. She is a lookout for the Vampires, and one of the few members of the Tribe who walk the city freely by day. The tribe has set a network of taut ropes between most buildings around Rhymes Square for her, and Anne passes most of her time there, watching the city.
Her pet peeve: windy days. A light breeze is fine, yet a strong one keep her from walking in the heights; although she is skilled at tight-rope walking and loves the flow of adrenaline on her veins, Anne is very much aware of what will happen if she misses a single step. Those windy days she spends sitting on the terraces, watching the birds and the people through the lenses.
[Notable History >> Anne was born and raised on Golden Arena, a wandering circus. Her family was famous by their acrobatic number, which included her parents, Martina and Robert, and their daughters Marguerite and Anne.
When the plague struck, the Golden Arena was leaving New York. Its members had a last free day on the city, and Anne was wandering by herself, amazed by the lights and shops. She wandered too far, and was brutally beaten, raped and robbed, then left unconscious on the street. After waiting two days for her, the circus gave up and left Anne behind. She was found by a group of kids, who took care of her and nursed her back to health. Those kids were the first of the Wharf Rats, and they were the ones who dubbed her Dancer, after they watched her training as she healed.
However, the Waterfront was not Anne's home. She missed the sky, the wings of the birds, the feeling of freedom. She would never forget their kindness, yet she had to leave. After a few days of wandering through the city, she went to the Vampires, not because of their ideals but because their realm was closer to the sky. They were the ones most likely to suit her life, in her point of view.
Anne never told them about her stay with the Wharf Rats, and will never fight the Tribe who saved her life. She accepts the rules of the Crow, yet her skyline refuge holds all her rebellion and free-spiritedness.
Éowyn ~ 'Women of this country learned long ago those without swords can still die upon them. I fear neither death nor pain.'
Aragorn ~ 'What do you fear, my lady?'
Éowyn ~ 'A cage. To stay behind bars until use and old age accept them, and all chance of valor has gone beyond recall or desire.'
'We're walking in the air
We're floating in the moonlit sky
The people far below are sleeping as we fly
I'm holding very tight
I'm riding in the midnight blue
I'm finding I can fly so high above with you
Far across the wold
The villages go by like trees
the rivers and the hills
The forest and the streams
Children gaze open mouth
Taken by surprise
Nobody down below believes their eyes
We're surfing in the air
We're swimming in the frozen sky
We're drifting over icy
mountains floating by
Suddenly swooping low on an ocean deep
Arousing of a mighty monster from its sleep
We're walking in the air
We're floating in the midnight sky
And everyone who sees us greets us as we fly' ~ Nightwish
[Reputation >> Anne is a strange choice for a Vampire. She is not aggressive, unless she feels her freedom is threatened - then, she will fight back with all her strength and hidden fury. Most Vampires tolerate her and recognize her skills and her use as a lookout, but not much beyond that.
