[Name >> Rose "Velvette" Parker (you pronounce it Vel-Vet-eh (pronounced like the letter 'a')
[Age >> 16
[Gender >> Female
[Tribe >> Cigarette
[Rank >> Commoner
[Nationality >> American
[Politics >> Doesn't really care.
[Romantic orientation >> Straight. She is looking for someone who can love her for who she is, not for her body or looks. (=D)
[Appearance >> Velvette's skin is tan, from always being in the sun when she was younger. Her hair is a dark, dark red, making it look almost auburn. It is straight and reaches to her mid-back, but she usually wears it up in a bun or pony tail. Her almond shaped eyes are an odd blue, more aquamarine than anything. Her lips are always a dark red, as she carries around blood colored lipstick. Velvette's face is heart shaped, her features sharp yet beautiful. She wears a red mid-driff jacket, and a white tanktop, along with a knee-length skirt, which is also red, and knee-high red - she likes red - boots, as jewlery she wears two silver rings with black jewels, and a black chocker with a dark red rose in its center. She is very slim, sleek and speedy. (=D) She obviously has muscle, more in her legs than her arms as she is a swift, long distance runner.
[Weapon(s) >> One .50 calibur pistol, and two silver daggers.
[Attitude >> Velvette is not the kill people think she may look like. She will kill, yes, though only to survive or if she is forced to. Velvette would rather just run - not away from battle, just run - than fight or kill. She just enjoy's to run. She also loves to write poetry, and often recites it to Crucifix, her pet. She thinks she can talk to him, and that he can talk back to her. She basically has whole conversations with him inside her head, and often gets distracted. Her only friend for about 5 years had been this african wild dog, so she took up to talking to him. She'll often speak in rhyme and whispers, giggling to herself and her dog, Crucifix. She is rather kind to people, even different tribe members, though that is as rare as something living in Antarctica. She always carries one of her daggers in the open, letting people know that she can become deadly and aware at any moment. Her other dagger she keeps hidden in her boot, and her gun is hidden either in the oddly deep pockets of her jacket, or strapped under her skirt.
[Notable History >> Velvette was born in New Jersey, into a broken family. She had three brothers who were much older than her, about 12 or 13 years each. She hardly saw them, as they lived with their real dad, while she lived with her mother step-dad. Her real father was a scientific researcher, and he was planning to make a trip to Africa for a long, 7 or 8 year research project on the tribes of Africa. At the time she was only twelve, and thought of nothing but herself. Her mother was abusive and neglectful , and her step-dad a drunken bastard who only cared about sex, money and alcohol. Her mother began hitting her, taking out her 'hard days' on the 'little bitch of a daughter'. Velvette ran away, taking with her only a brown teddy bear and a cheese stick. She planned to get to her fathers' house, who lived about an hour away. She made it, after 2 hours of walking through the rain. Surprisingly she didn't get sick. She stayed with her father for a few days, telling him all that her mother and step-dad had done. Her father won custody of her through a rather short trial, and they lived contently for about three weeks. Her father had to Africa for his study, and Velvette had to stay. She decided to sneak on the boat that her father was taking, stowing away. She was soon found out, about a week into the long journey. How she managed that long, was her sheer will to remain hidden. Her father wanted to turn back to send her home, but there was no way to do that.
One night, a vicious storm came upon the boat. It destroyed the ship so easily, leaving Velvette and her father to swim for safety. There was no chance. Her father had been injured badly, his head hit and his arm broken. It was a miracle he survived the storm at all. He managed too, he and Velvette clinging to a piece of drift wood the whole time. After hours of lashing rains and sickening, ice cold waves, her father passed away. His last words to her were something like "Be brave, my child, be brave." He didn't get a chance to say 'I love you' one last time, before he became one of the 100 victims of that crash. Velvette was the only survivor of everyone. She drifted along for an hour or so, to be found by a fishing boat. It was a tribal fishing boat...her saviors. She hoped that they would be her rescuers, and not her killers. They took her into their tribe, where she was accepted, only because she was thought of as good luck, being the only survivor.
She often took to wandering the lands by herself, something Xlana, her adoptive mother, had told her not to do several times. "De wild is not a safe place for a youngling like your self." she always used to say, with a soft smile and a shake of her head. Velvette continued to do so, though. Which was how she met Crucifix, an African Wild Dog. He was an oddball, because his father was and African Wild Dog and his mother a German Shepard who had been transported here for hunting reasons. She found his mother dead, and his father had taken to a new pack. Crucifix was the only pup left alive. He was only a few months old, but old enough be weaned. Velvette took him in, and raised him like her brother. After her tribe was killed off by both disease and war, she was alone again...in the middle of Africa. She was 14 at the time, and wandered surviving off the tricks her tribe had taught her, along with the helpful hunting of Crucifix. She began to have long talks with the wild dog, and soon began to believe that he could talk back. So began that she had whole conversations in her head, believing that Crucifix was replying.
Finally, after a year of wandering, harsh, yet surprisingly not lonely times, she made it to a small airport. She told the pilot her story, and they agreed to give her a free ride to America, only because -again- she had been the only survivor of both a shipwreck, and a disease and a war! Ah yes, they said that she had been through enough already. She finally reached New Jersey, only to find out that no one in her family accepted her. They all shunned her after a few days of living with her. Why? Becuase she 1) had a wild dog as her pet and 2) she talked to him. So, after going out to the streets, she found an old printed out flyer about a CNN story. She made her way to New Pork, and was picked up by the Cigarette's shortly after cutting through the Razorwire fence (if thats okay.).
[Reputation >> She is calm and reserved, and known as the one with the 'odd dog' or the one with the 'big guns'(XD nothing intended than the real meaning there...) She has a violent fear of storms and is a severe Thalassophobic - fear of the sea.
[Pet >> **Crucifix is an African Wild Dog mixed with a German Shepard. He is calm and docile, scarcely bites or makes a sound unless told to by Velvette. Basically, he is her shadow. He is the size of a small german shepard, with long, thin legs.**
