Name: Reason Harrison-Aida
Alias: Impulse
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Weapon(s): Modified Airgun; heavy trigger weight
Tribe: Cigarettes
Rank: Beta
Nationality: Irish-American; lived in Ireland, America, France, Russia, then American again, and back to France.
Politics: Each to his own
Romantic orientation: Straight (Or more like, ‘Romance, me? Pwah.’)
Appearance / Attitude: I just know I’m going to repeat myself, describing Reason’s attitude and appearance separately, so I’m stuffing them together.
Reason – when you see her for the first time, you see her fiery hair, her now hazel, now green eyes, and her crimson clothing. Probably, your eyes will be glued to the airgun in the holster at her plated red suede belt, or the twin switchblades she sometimes clutches when she feels more like getting up close and messy with someone rather than pounding them from afar. You can tell she’s in authority by the way she carries herself, the pride in her step and the set of her expression, but you have to get to know her to know the deeper layers of her. She’s an onion, seriously.
The outer skin is her combat-ready, in-control and haughty Cigarette Beta self. When she’s like that, best step lightly and let her know you’re unarmed.
The next skin is the self she shows to the Cigarettes – proud, impulsive, ready for anything, and used to listening to bullshit from anyone and pretending she cares. You would trust her instantly, but still step carefully once she got herself in a temper. Her Impulsive side shows then, too, when she makes hasty decisions that deviate from the level-headed commands she might have given earlier.
To those who know her well, Reason is a friend. Her pride falls away and her temper shrivels to leave an almost civil human being who tends towards kindness mingled with self pity. Some of her past has melted into Reason’s being; and she sometimes still jumps when someone shouts at her or sounds drunk – but only when she’s not wearing the mask of her authority.
Notable History: Reason was born to an American father and an Irish mother, somewhere in the country side of Ireland. She grew up like every other middle-class girl, although she quickly showed a flare for command and such, on the student council and taking part in several youth programs. She knew children’s rights backwards and the Criminal Law book upside down.
Calamity struck when she was fourteen, and her mother died suddenly, killed in a terrorist bombing while on holiday in France. Her father, a not-well-known-politician, left his job to take her to his homecountry. He left her with his parents for a year and a half, and she didn’t mind much. She went on leading her youth groups over the internet, had several of her short articles on children’s rights published in magazines, and almost had a heart attack when her father came to fetch her.
They moved to France and lived there a year, while Reason’s father remarried – meaning Reason found herself with a step brother older than her, whom she hated. Her father started drinking, and her step-mother took Reason and her brother to Russia for a few years so that Reason’s father could cool down a bit. When They got back, the entire family moved back to America for a few weeks, only to go back to France one last time. Reason was seventeen when her father divorced again, spending one last year in America before intending to go back to France – only, Reason left him to live in New Pork after Sandstorm, wanting to get away from his drunker slur and heavy hand.
Reputation: For being not only impulsive, but deadly dangerous with that airgun of hers. She leads the Cigarettes more than Seraphim does, and everybody knows that she could very take his spot and lead the Cigarettes back to relative greatness – if she wanted.
