Vox shook her head softly and kept petting her hair. "Don't think like that Anne. How can it be over if it's just started? Listen here...", the girl hooked a finger under Anne's chin and pulled her head up, smiling at her. "Hope never dies.", she smiled and brushed away some hair behind Anne's ear. "You are going to be just fine. I promise.", she nodded "Cry all you want, it's good for the soul.", she whispered, before helping her to her feet. "You need to rest, I'll take care of your wounds in a bit."
Vox took Anne to a small bed, pratically made out of only a lot of old blankets. She lay her there, covered her body and kneeled by her side, petting her hair while singing soothingly, trying to put her asleep.

Lying down, the girl buried her head on one of the blankets, concealing her face. The salty tears burned on her ravaged skin, but she simply didn't care anymore.
You don't get it, do you? You don't know who I am. I belong with the birds, the clouds, the sky. I belong up there, not here. How can I dance if I cannot even walk on a straight line? How can I, if my feet and my mind falter at every second step? How can I, Seraphim...? It's over, I've danced my last dance. Dancer is dead - she died on that roof, on that hall, on that cell.

Vox would wait for her to fall asleep, singing and caressing her hair, knowing that would surely make a person drowzy, and with her cry, she would most likely fall asleep. Whenever she did, the older girl would resume cleaning her woulds quietly, trying her best not to wake her up. It stinged, but not so much to wake her up. Done with that, Vox would cover her body and put the arm with the hurt fingers in a position where it was confortable and not bothering the girl, nor making her move the fingers.
After that, she would light a candle near her desk carefully, and pull out the book she had been reading, leaning her cheek on her hand, elbow resting on the desk as she once again tried to solve the mystery of the book she was reading. There was no cover, and the inside title was so blurry she'd have to be insane to try to understand it.
