Seraphim was getting twitchy. Good, he should lose control soon. Rattlesnake's expression did not change - in fact, his smile only widened, his deep-set eyes burning in a mix of laughter and hatred.
"Why should I shut up? How much does the truth hurt, my lord? All your talk about non-violence, following Serenity like a faithful puppy - for what? Has non-violence saved her? Have you been non-violent and pacifist with that Vampire? By the way, how did you capture her? Did you pretend to be a friend, all peaceful and the like? Have you, Seraphim? They're all lies. Everything. All that Serenity told us, all you pretended to follow after. You can't expect us to respect the rules you don't, isn't it? If you beat a prisoner half to death, why can't I have a simple talk with Solitude? We were enjoying our conversation until you came up. Party pooper. Liar."
[He does have a point. That does not save me from hating him. Freak.]

[O.o – now I hate him too. XD]
Seraph snapped. Reason would probably have snapped too, had she been in the same position, but she wasn’t – she merely flinched. Rattlesnake had a good point, but then – Seraphim had never listened to rules, Serenity’s or otherwise. It seemed only logical that he disobeyed them now, too. He wasn’t going to have some sort of moral reform because he had been shoved into some leadership position he didn’t actually want. And besides – rules were meant to be just guidelines, really. They only became rules of steel when they could be exploited to get what one wants done, done.
As it was, Seraphim forgot that he was smaller and scrawnier than Rattlesnake, and that they were both unarmed, and that his right wrist would probably give. He threw himself at Rattlesnake, growling wordlessly, his face contorted with anger. His usually cold, nervous eyes shone with the same emotion as usual – just so much of it they no-longer seemed cold. He could probably have reached into his pocket and removed one of his lighters and used that as a weapon, or maybe the telescope folded inside his jacket. Anything would have given him an edge – now all he had to depend on was sheer anger.

[Good. I'm not the only one to hate him, then xD Guidelines? Remembers me from Pirates of the Caribbean...]
It had worked, Seraphim had lost control. Now he just had to make sure he didn't regain it easily. He had long wished for a good fight. Rattlesnake smiled inwardly, clenching his hands into fists. "You learn fast, Seraphim", he mocked, blocking the first of his blows with his right forearm, while bringing up his left hand to his opponent's ribs. "Yet you must work harder..." he sniggered between moves. The other boy, being lighter, would not tire easily. Rattlesnake would have to keep his breath for fighting from now on.

Another wordless growl, spinning away from the blow to his chest, bringing his left fist up towards Rattlesnake’s chin. Moving as though in a dance – so much like the movies that Serenity loved. Forget the ‘fall down stay down,’ rules of true street-fighting; this was much more personal. Although not the cinematic defending of honour, this was still more a story-book battle of the titans than what it should have been – revenge killing.
Seraphim had to keep moving now, as long as he stayed within the reach of Rattlesnake’s knuckles. Keep on his toes – if he wanted to stand still to catch his breath, he’d have to give ground and move out of the way. He wasn’t about to give ground – he was fuming inside, knowing that Rattlesnake was partly right. Seraph wasn’t following the rules he was supposed to be adhering too – the rules he was supposed to be enforcing. Damnit!

[Please reply on Shadow of the Sun, Cigarettes.]
Rattlesnake was slower than Seraphim, if not for much. The streets taught you not to think but just to let your body react; it knew what was best for itself. Yet, the rage and the lack of nicotine were affecting his reflexes - and Seraphim's punch hit Rattlesnake squarely on his chin, dazing him. His balance affected, he swayed for a moment, trying desperately to not let Seraphim take advantage of his weakness.

The skull is one of the hardest bones in the body. The chin, more so than the rest of the skull, Reason fancied, would hurt to strike with one’s knuckles. However, Seraphim seemed hardly surprised to see that his fist connected with Rattlesnake’s chin. He seemed even less surprised by the pain, as he hardly registered it. He was luck, of course – he could have broken or dislocated one of his knuckles. Therefore he was lucky to just get off with some bruising in a trade-off for an opponent who seemed to have lost a measure of his balance.
Seraphim realized at this point that if he continued on this tangent and managed to win, it would come not only at great cost to the wellbeing of his knuckles, but also of his already fragile reputation. He’d be as bad as Chloe, or god forbid, as Mina. He had to swallow his pride this one time, take Rattlesnake’s advice and stop. What he’d done to the Vampire was bad enough – if he did similar to someone who was on his goddamn side, he’d be more a monster than the Vampire he hated so much.
The question was whether or not he cared.

[Ooh. As bad as Mina. Eviiiil... xD]
Eventually Rattlesnake regained his balance, dark spots still swimming in his eyes. He was somewhat surprised for not being attacked during that time span - yet he was not going to let Seraphim take advantage again. He couldn't attack now, for his vision was slightly blurred, and he couldn't risk a fall in that critical moment. So the boy turned partially sideways, both arms in front of him, knuckles ready to strike as soon as Seraphim moved again. "Not fast enough yet, Seraphim... Not even close." Rattlesnake's jaw burned when he spoke, splinters of red-hot pain running through his head.

Forget honour. Scrap fair-fighting. And, most of all, bloody throw away any computation about the injuries your enemy might sustain. There is no forgiveness in battle, nor is there any semblance of regret. You’re fighting for a reason – that reason doesn’t change weather or not your cause is just or right. Even if your cause is as unjust and as wrong as can be conceived, it’s your cause – and, because of that, you have every right to fight for it. Freedom? Justice? God-given free will? Sure, fight for all the things Captain America stands for – that’s fine. But remember that it’s still a fight and it won’t be the glorious story-book victory.
Least of all in street-fighting.
Seraphim swung one leg up in a roundhouse kick, aiming at Rattlesnake’s already wounded leg. Both Seraph’s hands were up, ready to block any returning attacks – although he was still hesitant to throw his right hand into the fight.
“Screw you,” Seraphim muttered.

Fortunately, Rattlesnake was alert to what Seraphim might do – his hands dashed forward, a hawk's claws striking at his opponent's leg. If he moved fast enough, he could avoid the kick and throw the boy to the ground by grabbing his limb. Yet he was getting tired, and his leg was not helping; to dodge the blow, he had to pull it back, and the mere stretch of pulling it off the ground and backwards was a stretch he might not endure much longer. The fight would have to end quickly, and this move had been quite desperate. If he failed to grab Seraphim's leg, the boy would be free to manouvre closer and aim yet another blow.

Seraphim felt Rattlesnake move more than he saw the larger boy’s movement. Swearing loudly as his leg’s movement was rather violently arrested, the leader of the cigarettes tried to spin away again, knowing that he had to keep his balance or fall – if he hit the floor now, he’d stay down. Swearing again, Seraphim chopped his hand down on Rattlesnake’s wrist. It probably hurt him more than it did his opponent, but it might loosen Rattlesnake’s grip on his ankle.
Reason was watching the fight was a mild concern for the wellbeing of the two combatants, and the wellbeing of the tribe. The fight could still swing either way, and either way would be hell for the clan. Seraph wasn’t going to throw Rattlesnake to the floor and leave him there, that was for sure – he’d need to see blood, first. And Rattlesnake? If he defeated Seraphim, the integrity of the tribe would be jeopardy too. Seraph would be in a constant rage or depressed – neither good – and Rattlesnake would be all the more arrogant. Maybe it was time that she stepped in…?

Pain seared through Rattlesnake's right wrist when Seraphim's hand hit it, flashes of pain ringing up to his elbow. His grasp did not loose, though. Anger was possessing him, and the thought of dominating his opponent gave him strength to strengthen the lock. If Seraphim was not going down this way, there were other ways to force him to the ground. Snarling, Rattlesnake threw himself forward, willing to throw them both down.
[Dunno. Maybe Reason interferes. Or Solitude. I have absolutely no idea... And I still hate bloody Rattlesnake.]

Seraphim grunted and fell to the floor, his back hitting the ground first. Pain spread from his back to possess the rest of his body. Gdodamn it all. Fething Ratttlesnake! Seraphim knew he had to get up, but he was now lying on the ground with on ankle in Rattlesnake’s grip. How was he supposed to get his leg free short of dislocating his ankle?
Seraphim propped himself up on his elbows, ignoring the flashes of pain this caused, and stared angrily up at Rattlesnake. That had been a good move – unfair, of course, but that hardly mattered anymore.

[What?]
Rattlesnake's mouth widened on a triumphant smile. He had fell on his knees as well, hissing at the renewed pain. Even though, he kept a firm hold on the leader's ankle - and started to twist it viciously to the right, smiling all the while. "I want to hear you calling for help, Seraphim..." he whispered. "I want to hear you scream. Do me that favor, boy... Squeal."

[Play by ear… sort of just let these two testosterone factories figure it out for themselves. No predetermined result. ] Seraphim twitched, his eyes narrowed as he tried to avoid the fact that he ankle was being twisted at an unnatural angle. He wanted to swear, but that would be giving Rattlesnake what he wanted – Seraphim wouldn’t give in.
"Screw. You."
The young leader tried to turn so that his leg was facing the sane way as his ankle, but this didn’t seem to help much.
Reason decided this was a good time to step in – she didn’t know how well she could fix a dislocated, broken, or twisted ankle. She’d fixed minor breaks and sprains, but this wasn’t going to be minor, the way these two were going on. She took a step forward, opening her mouth to speak. Seraphim had pulled back his free leg and send a jackknifing kick towards Rattlesnake’s chest.

The kick hit Rattlesnake squarely on the chest, projecting him backwards and releasing Seraphim's ankle. His knees clicked as the joints were forced, and the boy grunted in pain, almost out of breath. He had let his guard fall, drunk with the smell of victory. Now he was paying the price, his chest heaving in desperate and painful inhalations. He could only pull his legs from under his body, burning needles up the right limb, and try to regain his breath as fast as possible.

Seraphim sprang to his feet, snarling and breathing heavily. He drew backwards a bit, favoring one foot, but only a little. His black hair fell into his face as he drew back, leaving Rattlesnake to get up. Seraphim breathed hard, his breath whooshing from his bruised chest as he bent down to retrieve his fallen switchblade, running his hands over the blade. It felt cool to the touch – helped him relax. He wasn’t going to attack Rattlesnake again. He wasn’t going to pull a Wolverine, not again.
Reason chose this moment, seeing Seraphim draw back, to draw her airgun and point it directly at his head. He was armed – but so was she. She wasn’t going to let these two idiots kill each other or waste the medical supplies because they were too stupid to talk about something.
“Seraphim, if you would please drop the knife?” Reason asked in her own voice, “And allow me to escort all three of you to the cells? I think you all need to cool down – I will be talking with each of you.”

Rattlesnake looked up. Seraphim hadn't attacked him while he was helpless. Idiot. And he still pretended to lead the tribe - how could him, if he was all "oh so noble knight"? The smirk returning to his mouth, Rattlesnake stood up slowly, as if he had all time in the world and was not facing an armed opponent.
"Oh, you are such a gentleman, Seraphim. You wait for your opponent to stand up before striking again. But your nobility was nowhere to be seen with that Vampire girl. Is it just another farce, to impress us, to make us proud of our great leader? You are managing quite a good job", he mocked, openly ignoring Reason and her airgun.

Reason rolled her eyes and turned her airgun to Rattlesnake and fired one of the stunning pellets as his head – he’d go KO the moment it hit him. Seraphim heard the gun’s soft recoil and on instinct dropped, but too late – the second shot connected with his temple and he dropped solidly to the ground, unconscious. The bullets had the force of a sledge hammer – but Reason was shooting pellets. They wouldn’t kill, but they could sure-as-hell bruise.
Reason raised one eyebrow at Caesar as if to say, “Do I have to shoot you, too,” before blowing on the end of her gently smoking weapon. She holstered the weapon again and wondered for a moment how she was going to get the two men into the cells. She’d have to call in reinforcement.
[Uhm. Lock Rattlesnake and Seraph up with Dancer…?]
